Do you believe in Mermaids? People may laugh if you say yes but, deep down, you either do, or want, to believe. You may have even seen one in your past. You weren't sure what it was but you know it had a tail and a woman's face. Mermaids sightings have been reported for centuries and why not?
This is truly a story for all ages.
Four lifelong friends from diverse backgrounds set sail on a long planned adventure cruise. Once on the open sea, they don’t heed the warnings after their boat is jarred from underneath.
The next morning they encounter a school of dolphins that surround a woman. They follow the dolphins into a fog bank which spawns an instant storm and one of them is washed overboard.
As the fog clears, they look upon two uncharted islands. From one comes the singing of the sirens, so mesmerizing the remaining three jump into the water to swim to it. As they slowly sink, they are rescued by mermaids and are taken to Atargatis Island. It is here they learn the wonders of the island and make plans to rescue their friend from the Sirens on the other island.
But they still face a battle with dead pirate spirits and trying to free their friend from the Island of the Sirens. They are helped by the evil Siren Queen's daughter, Chiron.
It all comes down to an underwater battle between the Mermaids and their dolphins, the Sirens and their sharks.
The last battle they face is falling in love. Can a Mermaid and a human be together?
Part II begins the story of survival.

WOW! what a great read. I'm hoping they write another story to follow this one! In a million years, I never thought I'd read a story about mermaids, but his story is much more than that. In the back of my mind I kept thinking this would make a great movie, too! Really nice read. Couldn't put it down at times. Two characters will keep you at the edge of your seat. Awesome story. It was so very interesting. I don't usually read books like this. Once I got into the mystic I loved it finished in 2 days.
Just... wow! This was great fantasy adventure at its best. I was hooked in the first few pages and wound up finishing this book in one read. I cannot wait to read more of Garry Hicks work! You'll love this book!
I love a good story so I thoroughly enjoyed this one! This novel has it all friendships, adventure,suspense, and definitely imagination. I highly recommend this book to anybody who wants to escape reality and dive into an adventure. I can't wait to read the next book from this novelist!!!

Not bad, but not one that I would read a lot; because it had trouble in keeping my attention for more than a few.
What a great book. I love mermaids and this novel totally satisfied my desire for a good read. Even though it's a fantasy, it's written in a way that makes the story believable. It has all the elements I love in a book action, adventure, romance, battles and a father that has to murder his own son. The story is told in a way that makes it easy to follow. It might be the Harry Potter of mermaid stories.
